AMS 321 • The Modern American City

Course Description

This course introduces you to problems facing city residents and prepares you for careers in areas such as transportation, housing, and urban/environmental planning. We will discuss methods of geographic analysis used in the areas of the Social Sciences, Architecture, Engineering, Communication, and Business. The lecture topics address comparative urban problems facing cities in the United States, Latin America, and Western Europe.

Grading Policy

Exam Procedures: Essay and short answer. Questions are narrowed down from the Course Outline prior to each test. Essay questions are selected from this question list, as are some short answers. The University grading system/scale (90+ =A; 80+ =B, etc.) is followed. No make-up exams are offered unless a medical note is provided. Make-up exams are different from the original exams.
