This is a rigorous class best suited for senior students with a 3.5 GPA or above. Contact the undergraduate advisor (firstname.lastname@example.org or 471-7286) for permission to register for this course. Upper-division standing and six-hours of lower-division government required. Contains a substantial writing component and fulfills part of the basic education requirement in writing. Students may not enroll in more than two AMS 370 courses in one semester.
This lecture and discussion course will introduce students to concepts of leadership and will look at the application of those concepts, particularly in public and political leadership. The course also focuses on how leadership styles differ between men and women. Several state and local leaders, in a wide variety of fields, will be guest speakers. The class is aimed to enhance the leadership skills of current campus leaders and to encourage them to continue serving in leadership positions after graduation.
