ANT 324L • Asian America & Moving Image - W
9:30 AM-11:00 AM
In this course we will examine the history and current practices of Asian Americans in film and video, both as subjects and media producers. The course will consist of a combination of readings, screenings, and the creation of work. Students will be expected to participate actively, keeping up with readings, participating in discussions, and doing weekly responses to readings and films online. There are 2 creative projects - one 1-2 minute portrait and a longer creative project, which can be done in groups. Because this course is designated as a Substantial Writing Component course, there will be a significant emphasis on writing and the writing/revision process. You will be required to meet with me after your first writing assignment and are envouraged to come to office hours and visit the Undergraduate Writing Center.
