Course Description
This course is a workshop in qualitative research design and proposal/prospectus writing. Among the topics to be considered are epistemology; ethics; problem definition; research methodologies in the social sciences and humanities; anthropological research methods in the "field," the archive, and the interview; data analysis and textual interpretation; and effective styles of presentation. Feminist, dialogical, and multi-sited methodologies will be discussed in addition to more traditional approaches.
