"Turning the Looking Glass on Early American Literature: Mary Rowlandson in Native Space"
A talk by Dr. Lisa Brooks, John L. Loeb Associate Professor of the Humanities at Harvard University.
Dr. Brooks is author of "The Common Pot: The Recovery of Native Space in the Northeast," which focuses on the role of writing as a tool of social reconstruction and land reclamation in the Native networks of the northeast. Please join us to hear about her latest research on Mary Rowlandson's memoir on her 11-week captivity by Native Americans during the King Philip's War. Food and refreshments will be provided.
