Views and Brews joins Hot Science-Cool Talks for this special edition on primate social behavior. Doctors Anthony DiFiore and Rebecca Lewis are both biological anthropologists at the University of Texas at Austin who study several species of primates and primate social behavior. Dr. Di Fiore focuses on monkeys in the Amazon, and Dr. Lewis focuses on lemurs in Madagascar. What do they actually do when they’re studying primates, how did they get into this field? What are some of the similarities and differences they’ve found between the primates they’re studying and humans, who are also primates? Highlights of their research and field experiences will be shared, along with different and perhaps unexpected research methods.

Primate Social Behavior with Anthony DiFiore. It’s pretty interesting to see how monkeys and apes behave both similarly and differently from humans! He can also talk about a lot of modern primate research methods, which even includes drones.
