Doctoral Students Awarded 2012-2013 Dissertation Fellowships
Posted: May 14, 2012
Physical Anthropology doctoral student Gabrielle Russo and Cultural Forms doctoral student Emily Lynch have both received 2012-2013 William Powers, Jr. Graduate Dissertation Fellowships!
Emily's dissertation research focuses on how Congolese refugees living in a Rwandan camp found themselves cut off from a once prosperous life in Congo and now face an uncertain future in a region of endemic violent conflict, population strain, and unwelcoming governments. Gabrielle's research explores the functional morphology of mammalian sacra and caudal vertebrae and focuses on its implications for tail loss and positional behaviors in extinct primates.
Congratulations, Gabrielle and Emily!
