20 Years After Writing Culture - An Informal Discussion with James Clifford.
Just a reminder that on Thursday, March 23rd, the Americo Paredes Center will host
an informal discussion with James Clifford, author of Routes:Travel and Translation
in the 20th Century (1997), Predicaments of Culture: 20th Century Ethnography,
Literature, and Art (1988), and co-editor of Writing Culture: The Poetics and Politics
of Ethnography (1986). The general theme of this discussion will be "20 Years After
Writing Culture," and will allow participants to reflect on and assess the directions
anthropology has travelled in the wake of critiques of ethnographic authority. As
well, this will be an opportunity for people to raise questions regarding Clifford's
public lecture, entitled "Remembering

00 AM and run until approximately 12:30 PM in E.P.S. 1.128.
