Join us for the next WGS Brown Bag for Graduate Students: Academic Career Basics Part 3 - Beyond Grad School

Wednesday, May 3rd, 11:30 - 12:30, CWGS Conference Room (WWH 407)

How do we decide what comes next? And how do we make that transition? How do we translate your research interests into a job inside or outside of the academy? How can we best structure our time while in grad school to help facilitate that future transition?

The WGS Brown Bag Series is organized by graduate students associated with the Center for Women's and Gender Studies. We invite other graduate students from any department who identify themselves as women's and gender studies scholars or whose projects include aspects of women's and /or gender studies to hear from and talk with faculty members. We intend this venue to be an informal setting in which to share and access resources and information about the academic profession that may not be part of standard graduate curricula.

Join us for the third of a three-part mini-series on academic career basics and the final Brown Bag of this year. Talk with Becky Bigler (Psychology) and Gretchen Ritter (Center for Women's and Gender Studies and Government), two faculty members committed to helping students navigate the tumult of academic life. They will share their experiences and their advice with graduate students from all departments and academic disciplines.

Bring your lunch and be a part of the conversation!

The WGS Brown Bag Series takes place on the first Wednesday of each month, 11:30 - 12:30, in the Center for Women's and Gender Studies conference room (WWH 407).
