Lillie M. Newton Hornsby Award is a $300 cash prize given for the best historical article by an African American female undergraduate, during her senior year. It cannot be awarded to those who have graduated. Deadline for nomination: Nov. 1, 2006
Requirements for Applicants: African American women undergraduate students majoring in history or related field; short writing sample using primary historical sources, no more than 15-pages; resume; one letter of recommendation from one of the applicant's professors; copy of applicant's transcript. Applicants are responsible for compiling three copies of the above documents and submitting them in one complete packet.
Applications must be postmarked by: Nov. 1, 2006
