Research interests:
Dr. Fernea has conducted field work in and written about southern Iraq, Egyptian Nubia, urban Morocco, Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries. He has also taught courses on ethnographic film and graduate seminars on masculinity. He is actively retired from teaching.
