SFC Nicholas Fleeger



SFC Fleeger, Nicholas A. is a Military Science Instructor at The University of Texas in Austin.  He has served in every position in an Infantry Rifle Platoon.  His most recent was as a Platoon Sergeant in 2nd Platoon 1st BN 5th Calvary 1st Calvary Division.  As a Platoon Sergeant he deployed twice during 2009 and as part of Operation New Dawn 2011.  Also he has deployed to Iraq during 2004-2005, and 2006 to 2008 serving as a Bradley section leader, Infantry Squad leader, and Sniper Section leader.

SFC Fleeger’s military education includes the Senior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Warrior Leaders Course, Sniper school, and French Commando School.

His awards include the Bronze Star Medal (3 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (6 OLC), Iraq Campaign Medal (6 BRNZ STR), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal (3 OLC), NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Overseas Ribbon (#4), NATO Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge.  His foreign awards include the French Commando Badge.

SFC Fleeger is married to the former Michelle Baker of Whitney, Texas.  They have four children, Hannah, Alex, Seth, and Chase.
