Major Wade L. Aubin is the Executive Officer and an Associate Professor of Military Science at The University of Texas in Austin. He has served as a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and on Battalion Staff in the 1st BN, 161st Infantry Regiment in Washington and in Baghdad, Iraq. He has also served as a Personnel Recovery Instructor, a Long Range Surveillance Company Commander, and BN Operations Officer in the TX Army National Guard in Austin, TX. He has spent two years in Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and one year in Ghazni, Afghanistan attached to the Polish Army on an Agribusiness Development Team. Major Aubin has also worked as an Engineering Geologist for the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Major Aubin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Humboldt State University, in Arcata, CA and a Master of Science degree in Geology from Washington State University, in Pullman, WA. His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course and the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course.
His awards include the Bronze Star Medal and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, Combat Action Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, and the Ranger Tab. His foreign awards include the Columbian and Brazilian Parachutists Badges.
Major Aubin enjoys spending his time in the Texas Hill Country with his wife, Julie, their two children, and their dogs.
