Commencing training at Camp Mabry
Posted: October 20, 2008
As part of the training that cadets must accomplish while apart of ROTC, students must attend lab sessions out at Camp Mabry, a local military installation which is the headquarters of the Texas Military Forces (Texas National Guard). Camp Mabry is home to the 36th Infantry Division. Camp Mabry is also host to the Longhorn Company for most of their lab sessions. When lab is conducted, cadre and senior students work to train cadets on such army doctrine as the battle drills, individual movement techniques, and weapons familiarization with standardized army weapons (M16, M240, and the M9).
