MBA students working a case during their leadership traits evaluations
For the second year, Texas Army hosted an Executive MBA Seminar at the McComb’s School of Business. Approximately 550 students from McCombs' TEMBA attended the seminar on August 3rd, August 21st, and August 24th. Serving as evaluators were current and former faculty from Texas Army ROTC, the Caissons (Texas Army alumni), active and retired soldiers, and the cadets of Texas Army. Featured events were a scenario leadership evaluation at JJ Pickle Research Center on August 3rd and 24th and at UT Campus August 21st with a team obstacle course component August 3rd and 24th. On the Obstacle Course, teams maneuvered obstacles while carrying a dummy and solved various puzzles/problems in high intensity situations. The scenario gave students a role as representatives of agencies tasked with developing a security plan for SXSW, where evaluators watched, recorded and afterwards pulled students aside for one-one-one advising and discussion. Students received a detailed summary of their evaluators' observations of their 9 leadership traits demonstrated during the event.
