HIN 330 • Hindi Drama and Film

Course Description

This course will focus on reading contemporary Hindi and Urdu plays, by well-known playwrights such as Mohan Rakesh, Sarveshvar Dayal Saksena, Habib Tanvir, and Shantha Gandhi. All plays will be read in Devanagari script. Selections from Hindi film scripts, as well as samples from Parsi theatre and the Nautanki folk theatre, will also be included.
