Course Description

TAM 507 is a continuation of TAM 506 and the second level of the introductory course. The course meets five hours a week and carries five credit hours. Usually one hour per week will be devoted to structure introduction, one hour for reading, one for conversation. From the beginning of the later half of the the semester, one hour for reading, reading comprehension, listening comprehension, and one hour for guided and free composition will be devoted for effective and wider language use. There will be a number of activities for language developments among the learners. The classes will be very interesting by the active participation of learners. There will be a thorough revision of TAM 506 in the beginning of the semester.

TAM 507 aims at: Learning basic Tamil structures completely Development of vocabulary Developing proficiency in communicative competence Practice to the normal reading speed Training in writing short passages Letter writing practice, that is, writing letter on their own Practice on guided composition
