Course Description
Continuation of JPN 506. Not open to native speakers of Japanese. 1) to acquire four skills in the Japanese language: a) listening: able to understand simple everyday conversation with repetitions. b) speaking: able to handle some survival situations through circulocutions and repletions, within a limited topic. c) reading: able to read simple, short reading materials including semi-authentic materials. d) writing: able to write short memos and letters somewhat necessary for reading and writing. 2) to acquire a fundamental knowledge ofJapanese grammar necessary for reading and writing. 3) to acquire some knowledge of the Japanese people and their culture.
