Course Description
This course will take a broad historical overview of developments in audio-visual media such as theatre, television and film in South Asia in the post-Independence period. Cinema-especially the Hindi film-has been the pre-eminent cultural influence shaping the popular imagination and collective conciousness of the South Asian audiences in this century.
