Dean Accardi

My dissertation research focuses on the relationship between religion and the state in early modern Kashmir, especially how asceticism and bodily discipline contribute to ideas of sanctity, authority, and power. Other interests include religion, history, and gender in South Asia, early modern religious formations, and Hindu-Muslim interactions.
