Graduate Students Celebrate Graduation
Three graduate students in the Department of Asian Studies received their degrees this semester.

Joshua Pien and Scott Williams received their Masters of Arts in Asian Cultures and Languages on December 10. Josh plans to apply to the Ph.D. program in Linguistics at the University of Michigan. Scott plans to teach Chinese at the high school level and hopes to start a translation service.
Steven Lindquist received his Ph.D. in Asian Cultures and Languages on December 10. Stevenâs specialty is Sanskrit religious literature and he is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Religion at Concordia University (Montreal, Quebec) where he teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses; he has held this position since 2003. He plans to revise his dissertation into a book and edit an upcoming volume of essays.
