Ishan Chakrabarti and Kate Page-Lippsmeyer Accepted into Select Admissions Program
Students begin graduate coursework while still undergraduates.
Posted: May 12, 2006
Ishan Chakrabarti, an Asian Cultures and Languages - Sanskrit and South Asian Studies Honors student, and Kate Page-Lippsmeyer, an Asian Cultures and Languages - Japanese major, have both been accepted into the Department of Asian Studies Select Admissions program. As a result, these students will begin taking graduate courses for graduate credit while completing the requirements for their Bachelor's degrees. Once their undergraduate degrees are completed, students will continue their graduate level coursework without any interruption.
Select Admissions is limited to the top one or two percent of the undergraduate student body. Departments nominate their best students for this program and then, the Office of Graduate Studies accepts the most qualified applicants.
Congratulations Ishan and Kate!!
