Asian Studies Graduate Student Asiya Alam Receives a Post-doctoral Fellowship at Yale University

Asiya Alam, a PhD candidate in Asian Cultures & Languages, has received a post-doctoral fellowship at the South Asian Studies Council at Yale University for the 2013-14 academic year. The Council is part of the Yale MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies. During the academic year, she will be teaching two courses: a survey course on Modern South Asia and the second one on her specialization (gender and women in South Asia). In addition to teaching, she will devote her time to research and to improving her thesis.
