Course Description

An introduction to one of Latin's most important literary genres. We shall try to read the first books of the three premier love poets, Propertius, Tibullus, and Ovid. It will be useful, as well, to compare the love poetry of Catullus and Vergil, who marked the way for the three authors I have highlighted.

Grading Policy

Three Hour Exams 33 1/3% each.
