GK 506 • First-Year Greek I

The course is an introduction to reading Ancient Greek. Students will learn enough basic grammar and vocabulary to begin reading a variety of classical and Hellenistic authors. Come discover what Homer and St. Paul really said. This course and the second semester (GK 507) are prerequisites of both GK 312 and GK 319. There will be daily assignments, weekly quizzes, 2 midterms and a final. Regular attendance is essential to successful progress. The course can be used as an elective, and Area D requirement, or in partial fulfillment of the foreign language requirement.
