Two Undergrads Awarded Endowed Presidential Scholarships!
Posted: June 1, 2009
These are highly selective, substantial scholarships for outstanding students at The University of Texas at Austin. The Endowed Presidential Scholarships program is considered one of the most notable scholarship offers for UT students. UEPS awards are unrestricted and therefore open to students of any major. Students must be nominated by their academic department to the President of the University in order to be considered for this award. Selection is made by a presidentially appointed scholarship committee and recipients are selected in the spring of each year for the upcoming year's class.
Jewelle Bickel was nominated by the Department of Philosophy and will be using the Scholarship for tuition and similar purposes.
Tim Grayson was nominated by the Department of Classics in recognition of his scholastic achievement and potential, demonstrated in part in his Eta Sigma Phi 2009 Undergraduate Research Symposium presentation, "Homer, Dylan, and Beyond: Understanding Warfare through Music." Tim has already been awarded a CAMWS Manson A. Stewart Scholarship for 2009-10.
