Course Description

The objective of this course is to cover the general principles of financial economics and to lay the foundation for more specialized courses to be taken in the future. The course is built around the foundations of financial economics the time value of money, asset valuation, risk management and portfolio theory. An emphasis will be put on the application of these financial concepts to decisions faced by households and firms. Financial economics is a field that has seen major advances, and theoretical development has had a remarkable impact on real world decision-making. It is my hope that this course will be useful to students on several levels intellectual stimulation, personal decision-making and career development.
