Course Description

Microeconomic theory is the study and analysis of how individual economic units interact to make trades and carry out other economic activities. The scope of issues that one can study is almost limitless (Bargaining,to charitable giving,to corporate mergers, etc). The primary objective of this course is to study the economics of the market system. We will study how various economic agents make their choices and decisions in a market environment, and the implications of those choices and decisions for the overall allocation of resources for the society. This will then enable us to study the effects of policies on a market economy.
