Course Description
This course focuses on four different sets of economic systems (a) the national variations of Eurocapitalism represented in Western Europe and the alternative system evolved in Japan, (b)the transition economies of central and eastern Europe, including Russia, (c)the alternative transition route taken in the Chinese economy, and (d) the emerging transnational system embodied by the European Union. These are all viewed in the light of the structuring provided by different levels of economic development and the interactive relation between globablization and national systems.
