UT Economics and ITAM Conference, November 17-18, 2006
Keeping with tradition, it is UT Austin’s turn to host the 6th annual joint conference in economics with the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). The two-day conference will take place on Friday, November 17th and Saturday, November 18th, 2006, at the Economics Department at UT.
ITAM, located in Mexico City, is one of Mexico’s foremost private universities. Its Economics Department is recognized as a leader in Latin America. The UT-ITAM conference, which has alternated between Austin and Mexico City since its inception in 2001, is designed to strengthen the collaborative ties between the Economics Departments at the two schools.
The event will bring together scholars from both universities, and is particularly suitable for younger members of the two departments to present their work. Top graduate students are usually given the opportunity to participate as well. This year’s papers cover a wide range of topics, including econometrics, labor economics, immigration, international economics, industrial organization, and decision theory.
