Making methods of performance evaluation known
Faculty members are free to develop their own methods of evaluating the performance of students in their courses, but they are required to make the methods of evaluation to be used known to their classes in writing before the end of the first four class days of each long-session semester. (General Information Bulletin, page 75) To avoid misunderstandings at the end of the semester, the syllabus should include a clear explanation of the procedure to be used to calculate the final class grade.
