Inaugural Economics Career Forum

The Department of Economics held its first-ever Economics Career Forum on November 1, 2013.  The Forum, held in the new College of Liberal Arts conference center, was open to all Liberal Arts students.  Over 200 students registered for the event, and nearly 30 alumni returned to campus to lead discussion panels and network with students.

The event was a great success, with both recent graduates and experienced business leaders sharing their experiences with current students.  The Forum had two breakout sessions, with panels on topics including Finance, Consulting, Energy, Real Estate, Branding Yourself, etc., followed by a reception.  Staff members from Liberal Arts Career Services were also on hand to help out students with resumes, interview skills, and other job-search advice.

The next Economics Career Forum has been scheduled for Friday afternoon, November 7, 2014 (the day before the home football game versus West Virginia).  Alumni who are interested in participating in the Forum should contact us at economics@austin.utexas.edu.
