Course Description
Close translation of some 3182 lines of Anglo-Saxon, concentrating on the manuscript, emendations, and history of the scholarship. We start today (1/17) and finish on 5/5, with five days off (Friday before Spring Break, Spring Break and Friday before Easter). We have 38 classes to do 3182 lines or 83 lines per class. (In case of doubt, you will need to know some Anglo-Saxon).
Grading Policy
50% translation (do not come unprepared more than twice), 50% attendance (do not miss more than two classes). Your grade will be reduced by one full letter if you miss more than 2 classes and/or 2 translations. Know some Anglo-Saxon. No exam unless you do not translate well.
