E 348 • Twentieth-Century Short Story
12:00 PM-1:00 PM
We shall read a variety of short fictions by modernist and postmodernist writers. In reading these fictions, we will not only ask questions about fictional form, but also raise questions about modernism and postmodernism, place these texts in a literary and historical perspective, and examine how they have been read and re-read by critics.
Three short papers (4 typed pages) 25% each
One final longer paper (6-8 typed pages) 25%
