Course Description

Our aim is to encourage students who want to write poetry well and to help them improve their skills through: 1) Informal class discussions of one another's poems 2) Attentive reading and analysis of poems by modern poets that reveal diverse kinds of achievements and suggest possibilities for one’s own experimentation and development 3) Conferences with the teacher

Grading Policy

Students will submit original poems or parts of poems weekly. No tests or exams. The grade will be based chiefly on the quality, quantity, and improvement of your writing during the semester, and to a lesser extent on your regular attendance and contributions to class discussions.
