Course Description
Description: An introduction to Old English, by way of readings in Old English. Well learn the language from the texts. First, pronunciation. Then, memorization of the forms of the definite article. Then, the nouns, then the verbs. All will be done by way of readings in the texts. This is a language class. It requires daily attendance and daily preparation, Because it is a preparation for the Beowulf class to be offered next semester.
Grading Policy
Grades: attendance (33%), translation and quizzes (66%). You must have almost perfect attendance and perfect translations/quizzes to earn an A.
