Course Description

Each novel reveals the changing faces of war, beginning with the world's first "Total War" (the Civil War), followed by The War to End All Wars (World War I), The War Against Fascism (World War II), The First United Nations War (Korea), and The War of Internal U.S. Division (Vietnam).

Grading Policy

SWC courses require no less than 4,000 words per semester; six papers of no less than 750 words each--literary criticism of assigned novels (comparison/contrast; characterization/etc.)--will determine 100% of the course grade.

Papers turned in a Thursday or a Friday will be returned on the first class meeting of the following week.
