Author Hoda Barakat speaks on war and literature

Originally from Lebanon and now living in Paris, Hoda Barakat is one of the most important Arab authors writing today. She is the winner of the Naguib Mahfouz Prize, the most prestigious award in Arabic literature. Her works have been published in more than 10 languages. Barakat is best known for her powerful novels, set during or after the Lebanese civil war (1975-1990).
