Synopsis: “The educational programs in colleges and universities are largely driven by research agendas. Few today doubt that scholarly research exchanges— communication and authorized publication—will have to be digitally organized and executed in a regular way very soon. For those who have investigated the issue seriously (funding institutions, for example) there is no doubt at all. The problems to be overcome are both technical and institutional, although the institutional problems are far the most difficult. How to define, explore, and address these problems is an imperative current need of the humanities, educational, and research communities.”
