"American Volunteers" by Johnny Meyer
The English Department hosts a free staged reading of American Volunteers, the award-winning play by students and former army ranger Johnny Meyer. American Volunteers follows a squad of special operations Rangers as they patrol the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. The play focuses on the three sergeants responsible for leading the squad, and the conflict that arises as each pursues life, liberty or happiness.
American Volunteers won the $20,000 George H.Mitchell Award for Academic Excellence Grand Prize this year.
