"Impossible Mission: The Spatial Politics of Sexuality in Peter Bratt's 'La Mission'"

Richard Rodríguez will critically examine the geographical demarcations of race and sexuality in San Francisco's Mission District as represented in Peter Bratt's 2009 film, La Mission.  As part of a book project on Latino masculinities, sexuality, and social space, the talk assesses and confronts a variety of assumptions hinging on the supposed impermeability of Latino and queer.
