Admission Requirements
The Graduate Program of the Department of English at The University of Texas at Austin admits students for the fall semester only. Applicants who have earned a BA from a regionally accredited institution may apply to the MA/PhD program in English or to the MA program in Creative Writing. The Program does not accept applications for a terminal M.A. degree in English. The deadline for Fall 2010 applications is December 1, 2009. We do not have rolling or spring admissions.
Foreign Language Requirement
Two years' college credit in a foreign language or the equivalent is also required for students who are admitted to the graduate program.
Application Procedures ("How to Apply")
Applications are made to two separate offices: the Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) and the English Department's Graduate Program. You must send a packet of application materials to the English Department in order to be considered for admission.
