English Honors Program students present at the conference for "Human Rights at the University of Texas: A Dialogue at the Intersection of Academics and Advocacy"

Students of Professor Harlow's honors seminar on literature and social justice presented at the "Human Rights at the University of Texas: A Dialogue at the Intersection of Academics and Advocacy" event, a conference sponsored by the Bernard and Audre Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice in conjunction with the School of Law.
The conference was held March 26-29, 2009, and English Honors Program students held a presentation on "Literature and Social Justice" which explored the importance of including human rights and social justice in an English literature curriculum and the contribution of literature to political history. Participants included Professor Barbara Harlow, as well as several undergraduate students: Travis Bauer, Catherine Chiodo, Kate Clabby, Josh Cowan, Jennifer Dahlin, Andrew Durham, Alisa Holahan, Sarah Jenkins, Kitty Jordan, Andres Martinez, Nina Ochoa, Sarah Rush, Rebecca Wolf.
