The department of English congratulates graduate student Connie Steel, who will be spending the summer as a Social Science Research Council Dissertation Proposal Development Fellow (DPDF). This competitive national program, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, will sponsor Connie's archival research regarding human rights at the National Archive of Scotland and the University of Aberdeen. As a fellow, Connie will participate in two research methodology workshops regarding the Cultures & Histories of the Human Sciences led by leading social scientists, Elizabeth Lunbeck of Vanderbilt University and Emily Martin of New York University.
