Posted: June 23, 2010
On Wednesday June 30, Lisa Moore will give a gallery talk in conjunction with Leah DeVun's current exhibition at Women and Their Work Gallery. The talk, entitled "A Brief History of Queer Space," places DeVun's work documenting and re-imagining lesbian separatist communities in the context of a long history of lesbian landscape art and poetry, going back to the 18th century and including such figures as Emily Dickinson and Georgia O'Keeffe. Professor Moore's talk will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the gallery, located at 1710 Lavaca Street. Read more about the discussion and the exhibit here.
Lisa Moore is an Associate Professor of English and Women's and Gender Studies. She is the author of the forthcoming book Sister Arts: The Erotics of Lesbian Landscapes.
