Dustin Stewart wins the 2014 University Co-op and OGS Best Dissertation Award

Posted: May 6, 2014

Congratulations to Dustin Stewart, who has been awarded the 2014 University Co-op and OGS Best Dissertation Award. Dustin's dissertation, “Exponential Futures: Whig Poetry and Religious Imagination, 1670-1745,” was co-directed by UT English professors Lance Bertelsen and John Rumrich.

The Outstanding Dissertation Award was established in 1979 by the Graduate School to recognize exceptional work by doctoral students and to encourage the highest levels of scholarship, research, and writing. Three awards of $3,000 each were given in 2014.

Dustin’s many academic accomplishments also include receiving the William C. Powers Graduate Fellowship, publishing four articles as a graduate student, winning the English Department’s dissertation prize and beginning a new assistant professorship at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

You can learn more about Dustin’s work and read a full interview with him here, in an article published upon his reception of the English departmental level dissertation prize.
