Dr. Janine Barchas, Director

The English Honors Program (EHP) is excellent preparation for the future, whether your plans include a job, graduate school, law school, or other post-baccalaureate work. The program's seminars and (proposed) internships allow students to work closely with some of the department's most distinguished faculty, so Honors students receive more mentoring and individual attention than is possible in the general undergraduate program. The EHP also creates a small community of students with shared interests and goals; Honors students often get better acquainted with each other than do students in larger classes. Most importantly, English Honors students develop advanced skills in writing, textual analysis, and research and produce an original, independent Honors thesis. Please read the English Honors FAQ to learn more about our purpose, admissions, coursework, thesis, and expectations. For more information, please contact the Honors Coordinator, Brad Humphries.
