Undergraduate English Association

The Undergraduate English Association was founded in Fall 2001. Our mission is to: (1) create community among English majors; (2) facilitate communication between students and faculty in the English department; (3) provide forums for creative expression and exchange of ideas; and (4) work toward improving the effectiveness of the English degree plan. We pursue these goals through regular general meetings, social gatherings, a Speaker Series, curriculum-related surveys, and both writing and book discussion groups.  For more information contact Carolyn Calabrese at zhiggy509@hotmail.com.

Sigma Tau Delta

Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honors Society. Our central purpose is to honor and support students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. The UT chapter, in particular, works to promote the presence of literature on campus. Members organize service projects and sponsor several faculty lectures each semester. Sigma Tau Delta also celebrates literary "holidays" (like Shakespeare's birthday) and holds many social events, such as roller-skating, Halloween parties, movie nights, and more. Members share advice and wisdom, forming a close community within a large department. Interested students should see visit our bulletin board outside Parlin 114 for more information or contact Annemarie Pearson at pearson.annemarie@gmail.com.
