Audrey is a second-year PhD student in French studies and a 2013-2014 Walther Scholar. She holds a PhD in English studies from the Université de Bourgogne in France where she completed a thesis on the concepts of genre and gender in illustrated Victorian fantasy literature. Between 2007 and 2013, she hold successive teaching assistant positions at the Université de Bourgogne, Université Lille 3/Charles de Gaulle and Université d'Artois in France, and Brown University in the US. Her research interests focus on nineteenth-century literature and visual culture and, more generally, on media studies, especially when media include pictures.
