Course Description
This course is designed to improve students' oral and writing skills through study of a series of interviews with highly acclaimed artists in a variety of fields: visual art, dance, writing, film and literature. The video interviews were provided by the French Cultural Services to Dr. Crow for use in course development at the time she completed the Scientific French series, and the course was developed with a grant from UT Liberal Arts ITS. The 24 interviews are accompanied by comprehension exercises and essay questions. Students will complete daily comprehension exercises and essays. In addition to this, students will write 3 papers: two three-page and one five page paper on an artist of their choice. These papers will also be the basis of three oral presentations to the class.
